State Employees' salary - Bonus Rumors
VGEA does not know how the rumor started that the scheduled salary increase of $50 per year-of-service for November 25 would be a pay bonus.
The language from the State Budget from the 2005 Session is CLEAR - the $50 should be added to base salary.
Senator Walter Stosch, Henrico - Finance Committee and a member of the conference committee today told VGEA that "It is clearly the intent of the Conference Committee to add the $50 per year of service to base salary in order to address problems with salary compression."
