The VGEA Works for You!

The Virginia Governmental Employees Association (VGEA) is a non-partisan, non-profit association with thousands of active members throughout the Commonwealth. VGEA is not a union, it's an association that represents state employees and retirees on the issues of salary, health and benefits and other workplace matters and promotes cooperation and professionalism. For more than 51 years, the VGEA has worked with Virginia General Assembly members and every Governor to ensure that the Commonwealth's employees' and retirees' interests are protected and their needs addressed. 

VGEA dues directly support lobbying efforts as well as member communications, including our ForeSight newsletter, the VGEA eNews and our website. VGEA members also are eligible for our Insurance Program and Member Discounts.
