The Voice for Virginia’s State Employees and Retirees

VGEA is a non-partisan, non-profit association with thousands of members statewide.  VGEA represents state employees and retirees on salary, health and benefits and other work place issues while promoting cooperation and professionalism among the Commonwealth’s workforce.

For more than 50 years, the VGEA has worked cooperatively with members of the Virginia General Assembly, and each gubernatorial administration to ensure that state employee and retiree interests are protected and their needs addressed.

Your dues go to support our lobbying efforts (including our political action committee)  and pay the cost of producing our Foresight newsletter, the VGEA eNews, our on-line Legislative Action Center and our website. 

VGEA membership also has its privileges as members can take advantage of special health insurance programs, vendor discount programs and more.
